July 24 Snake R. mi 11 Burbank Walla Walla Co. Wash.
The Diplopump and Persquathos
were taken in the rolling sand
dunes. The Reithrodontomy were
taken in the marshy
area described above.
July 25 1 mi. E and 5 mi. S of Dixie Walla Walla Co. Wash.
Leaving our camp on
the Snake R. at 4 o'clock we
drove East to Walla Walla
and then on to Dixie
about 12 miles east on highway
30. At Dixie we left the
highway and drove southeast
into the Blue mountain.
We made camp near Lewis
Peak at a small meadow
which overlooked in the
surrounding hills.
Heavy forest surrounded
our camp sight site.
Douglas fir, spruce, white
cedar and white fir were
present. I saw 3 Columbian
ground squirrels near camp.
July 26 Stayed while camping 51/2 ft. Columbia Co. Wash.
