July 17 Paterson, 250 ft., Benton Co., Wash. I went 200 yds up the river to slough and collected 10 snake foot toads which were very numerous along the river. July 18 During the day I put up 5 specimens of Perognathus parvus which were trapped by D. H. Johnson 3 mi N of Paterson, July 19 In the morning I rowed across to Blackch Island with 2 other members of the party. The part of the island which we covered was approximately 2 mi SW of Paterson. The island was covered with sage brush part of which had been burnt the night before. Near the rivers edge there were a few poplars and willow, Salix sp., I shot twice at a Golden Eagle which flew up ahead of me as I walked along a rocky bank bordering the
