Hooper 1939 July 7 Brooks Mews. the edge of the timber, The Entomius Townsendii was taken with one of the bait traps which was set at the base of a dead log. The trap was baited with prunes. During the morning I shot a Chickadee from a Spruce tree east. the edge of the timber, later I shot a Hairy Woodpecker from a large fir in dense timber. During my walk through the forest I saw the following...birds 1 Evening Grosbeak 6 Pinson Jays 2 Canada Jays 4 Hairy Woodpeckers 4 Juncus 5 Robins The 6 Pinon Jays were gathered close together on 3 trees within a 50 foot radius and were calling loudly. I shot at one sitting on the top
