Houper 1959 July 1 Columbia by 30 ft. at newly located P. was so dry. 15 foot intervals. Most all were set under clumps of the high sage brush although 4 were set in grass under thick wild rose bushes which were near the river. Very little sign was seen while setting; one trap was set in a Micritus runway on tall grass bordering the river. In the evening about 9:45 I shut an Optecious furoco which blew over camp. July 2. 10 pm picking up the trap line described above. I found the following catch: 2 Reithrodontomys megalotis Both were caught in the tall grass bordering the river. The traps in the Micritus runway and land spring but empty. The morning was spent putting up the specimens
