MINN NE week.
Discovered after the
mother had been
flushed from the nest.
The nestlings were
brown with black
marking and were
very protectively colored.
The nest was at the
side of a small clump
of sage brush not
entirely concealed from
view from above or
from one side.
Other birds noted at
the locality were; Western
Meadowlark, Rock Wren,
Chipping Sparrow,
Western Bluebird,
Spotted Towhee, Lewis
Woodpecker.
Several small lizards and
a ground squirrel were
also seen.
Weather was good during
the first day; Clear sky;
moderate northwest wind;
