Cooper (40 Jan 3 Samuels Cr., 9700 ft., 15 mi S W Bishop Inyo Co, Calif. Owens river near Bishop. 2 Lynx rufus from the vicinity of Power plant IV on Bishop Creek - Tropes Houston gave me the head and intact skull of Bassaviscus astutus which he said was all together with a hind foot, the only parts of the animal which he found in a trap set near Owens river. The remainder of the animal presumably had been devoured by some other carnivore. He said it was a Bobcat but gave no evidence for this belief :- Later Houston gave me another skull of Bassaviscus astutus.
