Hooper 1940 Jan 3 Search Cr., 9900+ T., 15 mi. SW Bishop, Inyo Co., Calif. and birds which had been taken by muntelics in their traps), was nailed above the trap on the tree trunks. On a trap set on a lodge pole pine at a point about 3/4 of a mile up the po trail from the road yielded an adult 5' chickaree. Another trap near Grass Lake yielded a messel. Both of these traps were set as described above. The slope upon which the trap line was set is very steep and rocky. It is sparsely covered by Lodge Pole pine. About 2 inches of snow covered the slope. Trapper Castano's said he took 11 muntelics in this trap line last year.
