Jun 3 Sawtooth Creek, 9908 ft., 15 mi s.w. Bishop above North Lake on Sawtooth Creek. On this date Castanios and Houston consented to take me with them over their North Lake trap line . We drove to North Lake over the Bishop Creek road... and -the Sawtooths. At a point 1/2 mile above the upper end of North Lake we took the Sawtooth Lake trail which gives up the South side of the canyon at this point . Their trap line was located along this trail, It consisted entirely of # 1/2 traps set for Martens. on the sides of tree trunks. The traps were all 4 or 5 feet above the ground set at the head of a lopy leaned against the tree trunks . The bait (fish, chicken entrails, Rat carcasses, deer Chickarees,
