were found in , is a means
of further heat conservation
since the belly is held
close to the roof of the
tunnel thus reducing
heat loss by lessening the
exposed surface. The ears
were curled up when first
before the animal was
disturbed but upon awakening
they were erected. The heart
seemed to be beating rapidly
and respiration seemed
normal when examined.
( hibernation ??? ). This animal
soon died due to rough treatment ??
and was put up that evening.
