I tinerary
Dec. 24 Owens R., 4100 ft., 2 mi & Bishop, Inyo Co., Calif.
I drove east on West Line street
2 miles to the Owens river at the Palita bridge - My trap line consisting of 10 small mouse traps (commercial house mousetraps) set out was set over the sand dune to the left of the road 100 yds east of the Palita bridge. Traps were set every ten paces in a variety of places (i.e. near burrows, in open, in brush etc.). No particular effort was made however to set traps near any of the numerous burrows - The trap line began near the road and extended over this large sand dune and down to the river tulips and the east side vegetation consisted only of dry clumps of sage and another bush with sharp spin which I did not know (Black brush?)
