Reithrodon lamp megolotis
July 1
Columbia R., 300 ft., at mouth of Deschutes R.; Wasco, Ore.
Two specimens were
taken in traps set in
tall grass bordering the
Deschutes River. The area
was overgrown with Poplars
and thick masses of wild
rose. Only 4 traps were
set in this area. Both
specimens were adult
males.
July 24
2 mi SSE Burbank, 350 ft., Walla Walla Co., Wash.
Two specimens were taken
in a marshy area bordering
in which several cyusas were
found growing. My trap
line passed over such an
area which was topographically
a slight ravine surrounded
by dry sand dunes. The
soil was much darker
and more moist than the
surrounding dry sand
dunes. One specimen was a ♂ the other a ♀.
Only 6 traps out of the
40 set out were set in
this area.
