"Microtus californicus" Hooper 1 mi. E mouth San Pablo Cr. (salt marsh), Contra Costa Co., Calif. Oct. 25, 1936 Out of 100 "Benson" live traps placed in runways in Salicornia caught 1 Microtus. Bait oatmeal. Giant (salt marsh), Contra Costa Co., Calif. Feb. 15, 1937 "one" Took 3 specimens from traps baited with oatmeal and placed in runways in Salicornia. Runways exceedingly abundant but many holes filled with water - probably due to long, heavy rains. R. megalotis and M. musculus also taken. 1 mi. W Avon (salt marsh), Contra Costa Co., Calif. Feb. 28, 1937 2 taken in Typhae, 2 in Salicornia. Runways about as abundant as at Giant marshes. Some holes filled with water just as at Giant. - No embryos found to date (Oct. 25, 1936 - Feb. 28, 1937).
