Numerous huts seen on
SE facing hillside (also undoubtedly on opposite
hillside where vegetation is more dense) under
Calif. bay trees & in poison oak.

Droppings abundant in rock ledges; no
huts seen.
Account of trip of June 21-28, 1938, in
countries to north of and touching on the bay:
Found abundant in mixed Douglas fir,
madrone, poison oak & bay along
Drumness Ridge - particularly along lower
reaches near Olana Cr. Do puer stands
of Doug. fir higher on ridge uncommon.
Uncommon in redwood association
near Stewarts Point, Sonoma Co., tho
found in S semi-open area - as
result of burning or clearing of land.
Absent in Sonoma gap - possible
occasional "straggler" with "stragglers"
cover (vegetational) in the gap.
