Jan. 5, 1938 33 taken (with 5 P. californicus) in 100 mouse traps set in Arbutus Adenostoma, Quercus dumosa, and Ceanothus?? and under logs. 9 mi. NW Colistoga, Sonoma Co. June 22, 1 taken in 46 traps (+ 16 P. maniculatus) set on forest floor (five oak, deciduous oak=?, Doug fir, madrone, elder). This one taken at base of small Douglas fir in glass, on dry ground, rather open, near rocky outcrop (about 75 ft.). 2 mi. SW Saratoga, 2000 ft., Santa Clara Co., Calif. July 9-11, 1938 1. 3 taken in 81 traps set in an old apple and plum orchard with poison oak, adenostoma, and yerba santa thickets bordering and (2) along road in poison oak, Calif. Bay, scrub oak, Ceanothus, madrone, manzanita. 2. 2 in 10 traps set on hilltop in dry glass in grape orchard. 2 1/2-3 mi. NE summit Mt. Hamilton, Santa Clara Co., Calif.
