9 mi. NW Colistoga, Sonoma Co.

Took 5 in 20 traps (+ 3 micratus) set in dry grass on SE-facing exposed slope. The area had evidently been a seepage area now dried. On N-facing slope (step) under Douglas fir, live oak, alder and along the stream (few redwoods also present took 16 from 46 traps. This animal is certainly the mouse of the forest floor.

Stewarts Point, Sonoma Co. From several camps to Manzanita, salt marshes, man. 4 taken in 27 traps on SW-facing slope. 1/4 mi. from Ocean (Stewart Point) in mixed semi-open association: Ceanothus, monkey flower, bracken, Baccharis and grass; tree shrubs about 8 ft. apart. 2 taken from 4 traps set on fallen logs and among debris near swampy area grown to tall sword fern & sedges; these set on dry ground; where ground wet -> no Peromyscus. I live = 2 mi. @ Stewarts Point. 1 in 14 set in rushes & sedges in clearing in redwood forest. 2 in 20 set along roadway in redwood forest.
