Hooper, 1938 Olewa Cr., 175 ft., 2 mi. SE Olewa, Marin Co., Calif. June 27; Mr. Stewart leases grazing rights from the Marin Country Club people. They own most of the country on Drakes Ridge extending from Olewa south most of the distance toward Woodville - exactly how far I don't know; their land extends from the west side of Olewa Creek to the Ocean. This area, during most of the year is a reserve for most wild animals. Of course game birds are taken in season and probably some predators are removed, however because of of the comparatively few members of the club (about 5, according to Stewart) and because the area is not traversed by any public road other wild life can hold forth unusually unmolested - for the area about the Bay. Mr. Stewart allowed me to accompany him yesterday over to the Drakes Bay side of this property he leases. The road followed turned off the main highway at Five Brooks. Passing thru two locked gates we drove about 4 mi. + by road (1 1/2 mi. - map distance) SE
