glass and under Sanctuaries, monkey
flower and broken clumps - also few
manzanita; netted 1 Microtus & 4
Peromyscus m. Feathers took 1 Microtus-
20 traps set. (2) 1 mi. E Stewart's
Point from 14 traps set in marshy
area with large broken & rush clints-
by fallen, rolling logs took: 1 Peromyscus
maniculatus (on logs), 1 Sorex pacificus
(on mat floor) + 1 Sorex sp. (on mat floor);
Feathers took 1 Sotpaludicus, 1 Neustrelis,
& Peromyscus on log from 15 traps set in
marsh. (3) 14 traps set in rushes
or hillside among redwoods & Douglast:
1 P. maniculatus & 4 Microtus. (4) 25 traps
set along roadway in redwood forest.
2 Peromyscus maniculatus + 1 Sorex (in
mossy ground under broken on hill);
Feathers took 1 Peromyscus m. from
20 traps set in scrubby situations.
The area about camp and extending
down to within 1/2 mi of the sea
is typical redwood association.
Redwoods, tan oak, madrono, Douglas
fir make up the mass of the superstrucy,
broken, monkey flower, alder, thimble-
berry compose much of the understory.
