Hooper,

Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
Mar. 7,
Saturday PM at about 2:30 left Berkeley in
M.V.Z. truck #112 with Dale Arroy and Chandler
Nottle for overnight trip to set marshes on
S.F. Bay side in Marin Co. Arrived at our
first destination - marshes at the S.P. Railroad
Station Manzanita at about 4:30 PM. Set
traps here then progressed northward to
large marshes continuous to but east of
Corte Madera and Sausalito. The marshes
lie about the mouth of Corte Madera Creek.
After setting traps at 2 places here, went
3 mi. north to San Rafael for dinner &
picture show. Then back to marshes to stop.
Picked up traps Sunday morning & returned
by same route (Golden Gate Bridge &
Oakland-S.F. Ferry - and via Bay Bridge
goning over -) to Berkeley, where arrived at about
10 AM.
It had been raining when we arrived at
the G.G. Bridge; even we began setting
traps it began again and kept up a slow
drizzle interposed with hard showers until
we left Marin &. This rain undoubtedly
affected our trapping results - if it did not
affect the activity of small rodents (and
I believe it did) it did set off many of
our traps.
