Hooper,
1938
Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
Jan. 31,
Notes on "Day Shoot" held by members
of the Calaveras County Sportsman Assoc.
(Calaveras County
in Calif.) This is the second shoot held
Jan. 30,
by the association at which M.V.Z. members
attended. Miss. Mary Erickson and I
were on hand in April, 1936. See our
notes on that trip.
Left Berkeley with J. H. Tait and F.
Richardson in Dodge truck. Drove out
through Hayward, Livermore & Tracy on
U.S. Hwy. 50, then turned (east of Tracy)
north on Hwy. 99 to Stockton, thence north-
east on @ through Linden, Bellota, Jenny Lind to
Valley Springs; lunch here 12:30-1:15. Then to
San Andreas where tried to contact
sportsmen, store owners, etc but with little
luck; thence to Angels Camp. Returned home
via same route. Left Angels at 8:20
PM; reached M.V.Z. at 12:50 PM. Total
mileage 250 [miles].
