Hooper,
1937
Druxness, 100 ft., Marin Co., Calif.
Mar. 28,
when the trap was set, at the head of Tomales Bay at mouth of Olmos Cr.
more gulls were seen feeding on ground flooded to a depth of about 2 in. Among
the smaller Calif. and ring-billed gulls
was one glaucus or glaucus-winged
gull. It was much larger than the
others, had a large bill (black, except
perhaps for basal half or third); feet and
legs not seen; plumage entirely white
except for slight washing of rusky over
breast and lining of wing.
Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif.
after putting up specimens we packed
all belongings in the car and started for
Berkeley (N.P.D.) at 3 mi. NE of Trout farm
[see U.S. G. S. sheet, ed. 1918] near head of
Tomales Bay² found a deer by the side of
the highway – it evidently had been
hit by a car; wasa or, without antlers.
Noted another kingfisher near the Trout farm.
Drove down Olmos Valley to Bolinas, then
took road up over Bolinas Ridge by
Lagunitas and Phoenix Lakes to Fairfax,
thence down main hwy. to San Rafael and
ferry. Reached Berkeley at about 5:30 P.M.
