Hooper, 1937 Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. Jan. 13, Set out 4 "snap" traps and 6 "Delusion" mouse traps last night in the Salicornia salt marshes 1 mi. E mouth of San Pablo Cr., Contra Costa Co., Calif. Bait used was oatmeal. Weather conditions: cold, +10 m.p.h. north wind; snow on hills in Marin Co. and on hills back of Berkeley Hills. This locality is the same place visited on Oct. 25, 1936. This morning I found the Delusion traps untouched. In the govt. mouse traps were: 3 Reithrodontomy, 4 Microtus, 1 Sorex vagrans, and 3 Mus musculus, and 1 Marsh song sparrow. The 3 house mice were discarded and the song sparrow given to Mr. W. B. Davis. The remaining 10 specimens were put up by myself. Jan. 16, last night, Drove to Melrose Marsh about 1/2 mi. E Bay Farm Island and set out 24 snap traps, 6 Delusion traps, and 20 "can" live traps. The weather: cloudy, rained just after put the traps out.
