Hoojer, 1936 1 mi. W Hansen, 4650 ft., Washoe Co., Nev. July 15, Moved camp yesterday to the above locality. Stopped in Goldack for about 20 min. for supplies. Drove around to the west side of Granite Mts. to the "Silver Bell" mine. Smiley found one Corynopus in a mine tunnel. Junipers extend to or near the summit of the mountains on this [western side]. On the eastern side no conifers were noted, even at a 7425 ft. level. Drove on down the road toward Eagleville stopped at 15 mi. NNW Deep Hole. The next morning (July 14) en route to Hansen at 26 mi. NNW Deep Hole, 5600 ft., I shot a red-tailed hawk. Arrived at a deserted school house 1 mi. W Hansen where made camp. Shot a Nestoma lepida this morning from a wood pile. Discovered later it nested there.
