Hooper, 1934 Berkeley, Alameda Co., Calif. Oct. 30, Skull Only 70 ? Cerognathus spinatus 183-109-20-5 This specimen collected by S.B. Benson in Andreas Canon, 9,000 ft., Riverside Co., Calif. There is a duplication in his collecting numbers, 1220, one being skin & skull, one skull only. Therefore to prevent future confusion I am giving this another number. Benson himself furnished the specifications. Dec. 21, Alcohol 71? Dipodomys mohavensis This rat was collected by S.B. Benson on Aug. 1, 1929, at 4700 ft., Freeman Canyon, Kern Co., Calif.. This data was on the original tag; but no sex or measurements were given. A search through Benson's field notebook and the catalogue (of numbers included in accession 3331, which covered this trip in the Los Angeles & Kern Co. regions) fainted of an failed to reveal any alcoholic D. mohavensis. Therefore, to guard against future mixup, I am giving the specimen my number.
