rats in this region are confined to
the regions where the plants are
more abundant and the soil less
sandy. Only more extensive trapping
will throw light on the question.
I saw no cottontails while traveling
to and from the trapping locality,
howerver did see six or seven
black-tailed jackrabbits. Cottontails
were abundant here in May, why
didn't I see some this time?
Tomorrow morning we leave
for Berkeley via the Sonora Pass
Road, thus concluding this brief
vacation trip.
