E.Weske 1982 Journal Vicinity of San José, San José Prov., Costa Rica July, cont. a dense herbaceous ground cover in most places, vines + brush under the low canopy in the rest. I set 30 traps here, as did both Phil + Duke. finished ~1730 and headed back to San José. Staying at Hotel Asia, Calle 11, Av Cent. y 1. Only $170 for the 3 of us. Clear day + evening. San José, San José Prov., Costa Rica Aug. Aroso 0700. Drove to Villa Colón to check traps. Clear sunny day - no rain on our whole "Atlantic side" trip. At site 2 I caught 1 Proechimys, Duke caught 1 Proechimys, 1 Sigmodon, Phil caught 6. At site 1 I caught 1 Proechimys, 1 Sigmodon, 3 Liomys; Duke caught 1 Sigmodon, 3 Liomys; Phil caught 2 Liomys. We returned to San José and spent the afternoon in the lab karoy typing, etc. we have 34 animals to process... San José, San José Prov., Costa Rica 2 Aug. Spent the day in the lab. Ran enums, etc. San José, [illegible] San José Prov., Costa Rica 3 Aug. Again, spent part of the day in lab. Beth Braker is in town + saw her this morning. Went out to the México Bar with Pedro Leon, Tony Morena, Duke + Phil for the evening. Good food, lots of beer, lots of heavy scientific conversation. Phil is leaving at 700 tomorrow (up at 5 am - ugh) + Duke the got all the permits, etc. together today. went very smoothly - and quickly.
