We never found it - the surrounding area is all cut over with only small strips of trees. Cattle. We finally set traps in 2 areas that probably won't yield Heteromys, but were the best we could find (see map) trap site 1 trap site 2 River Parad Rd. Villa Colon N CHURCH dirt rd Pared Rd. .6km Hwy 7 Site 1 has some cattle + horse pastures around it, some coffee plantings. It is a strip of forest along a small stream. Lots of steep ravines, open understory in most places but some patches of bamboo, vines. I set 10 traps near the stream, then 20 more in the forest along the edge of a pasture with some secondary brush. Duke + Phil set 40/30 traps respectively.
