Limon, Limon Prov., Costa Rica
July cont headed into town for dinner. Returned to unfurl the nets just as it was getting dark (~1900). Left the nets up for about an hour and a half.
One net caught ?, the other caught two Artibeus, 4 Lonchurina. Several of the ?? were pregnant and appeared near term. We furlled the latter net and left the former up overnight while we returned to town. Clear evening, warm.
31 July Limon, Limon Prov., to San Jose, San Jose Prov, CR
Arose 0630. Checked traps - I caught 1 Proechimys semispinosus, 4 Heteromys desmarestianus in the forest, ? in the secondary. Phil caught 1 Proechimys, Duke caught 2 Proechimys,
3 Heteromys, 2 Oryzomys (prob. calignosus small dark ....). In
the net that was left up there were several Artibeus, prob. more than 1 sp., a small Glossophaga,
several Lonchurina, and a Desmodus. Most of them were released, but Phil kept the
Desmodus + a few Artibeus and lonchurina to take back to MVT. We returned to town,
packed, and headed back to San Jose. We arrived in San Jose early enough to get a hotel, make arrangements to use the lab tomorrow, and head out to Villa Colon to trap. We arrived in Villa Colon at ~1430, stopped for lunch, and then drove around for ~1hr. Looking for the
