E. Heske 1982 Journal! San Jose, San Jose Prov., Costa Rica 28 July cont. Spent the evening with the OTS folks - morning was sunny, but rained afternoon + evening.... Hwy 107 Hwy 7 San Jose Sta. Ana Escazu Guilla Colon Mature Forest (so we've told...) Hwy 7 N ↑ 19 July San Jose, San Jose Prov., to Turrialba, Cartago Prov., Costa Rica Slow start this morning - had to get the rear door of the bus repaired, stop off at UCR, etc... got out of town ~1230. Headed E on Hwy 2 towards Cartago - got lost trying to find our way through the damn place (again) and finally got on the road to Turriatha about 1430. Most of the countryside is cut over and planted with cane, or coffee/banana. No good patches of forest to be seen. We drove along Hwy 10 as far as the turn off to almost Moravia, and drove all the way to the end of that - there were no patches of forest that looked worth trapping along the latter road, so we drove back.
