Yucca Valley to Darwin Falls, Inyo Co., California
May cont.
Saw one Perognathus run across the road; a roadkill
proved to be P. formosus. Harry's group caught one
rattle snake (Crotalus mitchelli) and 1 leaf-nosed snake
(Phyllorhynchus decurtatus) in addition to a few
Coleonyx. Returned to camp about 2230.
Could hear an occasional burro, and lots of burro
tracks and feces in the area. Night clear and
warm - 23°C. Few [illegible] mosquitoes, mostly moths,
anthions, etc. attracted to lantern. Turned in ~2330.
