Journal E. Neske 1980 Pozo de Petroleo, 7 mi N Berriozabal, Chiapas Mexico away from camp). Clouded up while setting traps- completely overcast by dusk. After dinner, helped D+D stuff P. mexicanus stinned this afternoon. Plan on checking traps in am., then leaving. Hope it doesn't rain - road would be a nightmare. Turned in ~2130. Overcast, windy (gusts ~ 20-30 mph). Temp ~75°C (?). David set up a mist net at dinner, but no bats as of yet. Berriozabal to San Cristobal, Chiapas, Mexico 20 December Arose ~0700. Overcast, heavy mist. Began to check and pull traps immed. so we can get out of here before it rains. Line in forest near camp yielded 3 more Tylomys . Kept crossing trap lines w/ Duke + David. Began to rain lightly by the time I was finished with this line. Line set farther down trail yielded 1 Tylomys , 4 P. mexicanus. Duke caught 1 Heteromys [illegible] desmarestianus, 1 Scotinomys , 2 Tylomys, 2 P. mexicanus. David caught 1 H. desmarestianus , 1 Tylomys , (6 Pimex. No bats in mist net(although a large - Artibeus sized bat seen last night near camp). Drove out before road got too muddy, continued east on Hwy 190 through Tuxtla Gutierrez to San Cristobal las Casas , elev. 2113m. Stopped to buy some supplies, water. Lots of nice shops- very touristy. Water place is across the street
