Hendrickson 1950 Journal June 20 (cont.) injured by the slingshot. Twice that night during preparation of specimens, active animals were similarly seized (for killing). In each of these five instances mentioned (other similar instances not counted), the animals, with mouth opened wide in defensive attitude, emitted one or more loud, still fairly mouse-like squeaks.
