Hendrickson 1950 Sceloporus occidentalis Sept. 7 Stubbs Spring, 4500 ft., Riverside Co., Calif. Strung out over about 75 yds. of canyon bottom. They were seldom noted in close proximity to each other, but there was no indication of any exclusive territoriality; the animals often passed each other and changed their order in the linear arrangement on the canyon bottom. One animal was seen to move about 40 yards up the canyon during the period of observation, passing three other animals en route. At about 8:00 A.M. (sky temporarily overcast) the sand of the canyon bottom was 20.0°C. The temperature of an indiv. shot at this time was 25.2°C.
