Hendrickson 1950 Phyllostomus Oct. 23, 5 km. N. Villavicieja, 1400 ft., Huila, Colombia, S.A. Took one (#/439) from arboreal termite nest on overhanging limb in quebrada running S. of camp, about midway between camp and the Magdalena River. The trees in this area form a nearly complete arch over the stream bed. The termite nest is a large (18" diam x 30" long), mass sitting on a 3" limb overhanging the stream bed. It is about 20 ft. off the ground. I could see the 3"-4" diam. opening to a cavity on its underside, and a .22 shot shell fired into it brought out the bat (dead).
