Hendriksen 1950 Colinus cristatus Oct. 31 5 km. N. Villavija, 1400 ft., Huila Colombia, S.A. had been exceedingly wary and could not be collected before. This bird was shot as she flew into thick brush at close range; the skin is not good. Walking along road N of camp I saw small groups of quail twice; in each case they were grouped under a tree or bush; it was raining. With each lull in the rain 2 or 3 quail could be heard calling, about 1 mi. N of camp, and on the high flats NW of camp. Nov. 1 1-5 km. N Villavija, 1400 ft., Huila, Colombia, S.A.
