Numbers seen and collected during the day. They were found in cleared areas,
along with Cromidophorus (see
species account for today) and were also
commonly seen in uncleared forest (usually
where small gaps in the tree cover allowed
sun to daple the ground). There seemed
a definite tendency for the Ameiva
to inhabit areas of heavier growth
(than the Cromidophorus), where there was
less insolation.
