Hyla labialis
Nov. 15 Bogota, 850ft., Cundinamarca, Colombia, S.A.
are females. Is this an indication of a
beginning breeding period, with an almost
all-male chorus at first? Apparent
absence of eggs and tails would seem to
bear this out, as would the finding of
one of the four females in amplexus.
The male has an enlarged thumb, a
darker, wrinkled, throat skin, and
a belly coloration lacking dark, reticulate,
punctate spots.
