Dec. 1 El Mico, 4 km. S., 22 lam. Wdn Martin, 1600 ft., Meta, Colombia, S. A.
two Caimans; they gave me the head of
one (# 1626 ) It was a 5', 48 cm. snout - vent
length, 81 cm. total length (tip of tail
missing).
Dec. 2 Went to airfield at about 8:00 A. M. Waited
until about noon for the plane. I
collected two frogs during this
time (# 1627 & # 1628 ). Dr. Stobbin's
rode horseback to the Rio Guéjar,
where he took photos and collected
some specimens.

Arrived in early afternoon and went
directly to the Instituto Roberto
Franco. We met Dr. Zalaceta there
and he drove us to the hotel.
The rest of the day was spent with
minor chores and errands.

Went to Instituto Roberto Franco
in A. M. Petted and took a photo
of a baby tapir which had
arrived during our absence. It is
about 2' high at the shoulder.
It is eating well and is very
tame; it should endure captivity
