ahead of me, hopping again upon contacting
the ground, and coming to rest about
2 ft. farther on. It looked dark gray-
green in general color, and I could
make out a transverse-striped pattern
on its hind legs. For this locality
see species accounts for Psareolius,
small slim gecko, Hyla minuta, Bufo
nigropunctatus, Bufo maculatus.

It was hired by Dr. Julueta to transport
me left me here. Buenavista is
the name given to the notch in the
first high ridge crossed by the road
W of Villavicencio (going to Bogota).
The road descends on either side
of Buenavista (to the W, crossing a
valley and again ascending). From
this point one can look down on
most of the town of Villavicencio,
and can see the Rio Guatiquia (?)
winding eastward far out onto the
llanos until it is lost in the
haze of distance. Several buildings
(part of a dairy farm?) are situated
near the road, and a family lives
