Nov. 10 Villavieja, 1400 ft., Neila, Colombia, S. A.
Nothing in traps. Spent most of
Day preparing specimens and packing.
The stove is broken beyond our
power to repair it, and we are
leaving tomorrow for Bogota.
Sent part of gear by freight
today; the rest will go with us
as baggage. This [illegible] P.M. we
spent a social evening at
Paulino's home. Paulino says that
the landscape we see at this time
is greener in every way than
it is at any other time of year.
Nov. 11 Left Villavieja at about 7:20 A.M.
Duebrada Fajas was running muddy
and medium-high (about as it
was when we arrived). Duebrada
Cerbataana was running almost
clear, but higher than "normal"
for our stay at Camp Cerbatana.
Feeling at a loss to making any intelligent
description of all the country passed
through on route to Bogota, and not
desiring to write another day's of it,
17 journal in reverse, I have devoted my time
to an English-Spanish list of names of animals, giving the
Villavieja names so far as I can determine them.
