Nov. 9 The town priest visited us at about
8:00 A.M., to see our specimens and
ask about our work. I skinned
and prepared specimens, instructing
Perico and Paulino. Josele Calderon
brought (gift) another specimen of
Kinosternon. The river is higher
and faster today, apparently as a
result of heavy rains higher up along
its drainage. Even Paulino deemed
it inadvisable to attempt a crossing
to the island today. 50 Museum
specimens out, Dr. Stobbin and I setting
25 in riverside woods W of cemetery.
