many overhanging branches of plant-. There were
few grasses, but much of the clover-like plant.
The vegetation is dense. A solanum flower plant
was present. The 2nd head Phyllostus (MAL #122)
caught at 3500m. in very dense vegetation.
There is a lot of grass and clover. The bank also
is heavily vegetated. The smaller of the mice
was tan-ish. The larger had a dark patch
above its head, like some of the live ones caught
the other night.
The habitat generally has 4 spp. of tree comprising
the forest part: Synoris holli, Sephrocampyles gigantea,
Areopanax sp. (a very large, bulky tree), and an
Ericaceae. The slopes are mostly grassy.

We arrived here at about 3:00 pm. The area is
hilly desert. We saw some patches of
Tillansia coming S from Lima. At 3:30 pm
we started to setting traps in an area
close by here, 4km. ENE Pucusanu, 150 ft., Depto.
Lima. This is a hilly area with folies
slopes. The most abundant vegetation is a
greyish cactus. Scattered near rocks were
also clover-like plants and an occasional
leafy shoot of a monocot (3-5 in. high).
There were 3 gullies from our central
