0 June) began temperature recording from one 2-egg
reoback nest. There is a pair of territorial
pectards on the plot, but I found only the
♂. Earlier the ♀ acted (toward Dave) as if
nest was nearby. Looks good.
Drove in - weighed and measured pectards,
counted larvae under extractors (lots of Pedicia),
have to write notes, and so to bed.
Today was quite warm - goo melting
weather. In the afternoon I went out without
a jacket (It really wasn't that warm, but
it is fun to think it is.). The Ranunculus
really burst forth - they are all over the
place. This will be a great flower year.

I feel busy! Slept in, then piddled away
the morning getting infected finger repaired, counting
Tipulios under extractors, and even sweeping the
dab. Spent the afternoon doing melt and
habitat transects - still 82% snow cover, but an
increase in the rate of melt. It is still possible to
drive anywhere in a vessel, and the snowpack
is not yet to the point where it could go in one
goo warm day. Not much time to watch birds.
There has definitely been an influx of bairds.
In the evening I tried to go to the movie, but
I couldn't take it and went home to bed.
