This afternoon- a large flock of ca. 60 melanotos and 40 P. rss phalaropes. Collected 3 peotrales - they have given up all thoughts of sex; cervical fur is way down and molt has begun. 2 July Barrow Alaska Our early with Dave to set site II emergence traps. More west wind and Bering Sea fog and mist. Birds were very quiet and scarce. All emergence traps are now functional.
