Maclsa 1968 Journal 6 July) to repeat the earlier sequence, start up with the sites sampled on 9 June. Found the 8 holes near the No. end of III A-B and repeated these in adjacent spot. Duplicated the 8 from under the new cake-ester site only approximately, because of disturbance there. Found a new 4-egg pusillus near in the Voth Area. Returned to camp, then out to check the site I emergence traps (nothip) and empty the beer cans. Back to spend nearly two hours in a prolonged 'chat' with MCB. In the evening took MNE and Pete into Barrow to act like tourists. 7 July Barrow, Alaska Transsect day. Weather as yesterday: warm in the morning, winds shifting to the East and becoming colder in the afternoon. Did lines I & II, IV A-B before lunch. Again saw and heard several white-rumps over Gasline Ridge. After lunch out with Edna and MNE for more transects. Did VII & VIII, then II & VI, and then checked emergence traps and can traps at site II. Back to site I to check devices there; our first emergence result here - a 37 Peciq from I-10. Finally did lines III & IX before dinner. Went to a very funny English
