February 5, 1934
Caught one Neotoma lepida in trap left out.
Went out hunting birds in morning.
Shot 4 robins, one sage thrasher, one quailcatcher.
Spent afternoon putting up specimens.
February 6, 1934
Put out 12 gopher sets (20 traps) in morning, mostly in California. There were very few fresh wounds, and most of these were in loose sand.
Went over trap-line at 4:30 P.M.
Had caught one gopher, a female, caught in California, \frac{1}{4} mi. S Calif.-Nev. Mon.
Shot a black phoebe, and saw a kingbird and an ash-throated fly-catcher. Saw a group of 4 Ammospermophilus philii in a small ravine near camp.
Spent most of afternoon in camp, since Fitch and Orr had gone up to Hikes Spring; and Feathers was running his trap-line.
February 7, 1934
Caught in gopher traps- nothing.
