Caught in mouse traps-
1 Perognathus fornicatus
10 Dipodomys merriami
Caught in gopher traps-
1 male.
Reset all setting of gophers traps
Birds seen while making resets-
Sage thrasher, western robin, verdin,
white crowned sparrow, great blue heron,
mud-her, and Phainopepla.
Spent most of day putting up gophers,
and in evening went over like again.
Had caught two, both young and
one alive. Placed the live one, a female
sub-adult, in a cardboard box for further
Observation. It was very active, and extremely
vicious. It had been caught by the right
hind leg, and, when greatly excited, persisted
in biting that leg, crunching the bones
of the foot until the blood flowed freely.
