N.B. Hamilton 1967 Journal Sept. 2 3 km SE of Morrope, Dept. of Lambayeque, Peru throated Dotterels (Oreopholus ruficollis) and several species of hummingbirds. The Andean Sparrow (Zonotrichia capensis) was also common here as were several species of doves. After supper I hiked back to area where traps were kept in order to check them during the night. However, it turned out they were not marked well enough and I was unable to find them. Sept. 3 I checked my traps in the morning and found no mice in livetraps. I caught three mice but they were immature. Two were caught in one trap which I had found and reset during the night. That morning Fred relocated some of his traps near the sand dunes. I said I would take care of them Ray went to area of dunes to collect lizards and snakes. I had seen several snake tracks in the dunes and a couple of lizards that appeared different from any that we caught previously. When Ray returned he had collected a Tawny-throated Dotterel which he had collected in agricultural area that I had suggested. Back at camp I made some oatmeal cookies to serve as refreshments at our attempt at a going-away party which we had at noon. Carl had trapped two live Paralomys during the night, and Fred said he would take them back to Dr. Pearson by smuggling them thru customs. Fred and Ray left about 13:00 after
