R.B. Hamilton 1967 Journal Cerro Vieja, 5 km SSW of Motupe, Dept. of Lambayeque, Peru August 31 We gathered wood and ate in the dark. We did not set any traps or nets for we were anxious to get an early start in the morning, get back to Septemberl Morrope, and livetraps some ralaromys sp. We awoke at 06:00. Immediately after breakfast we broke camp. En route to Morrope, Dept. of Lambayeque, Peru We stopped at Chiclayo for supplies and to get the car repaired. We picked up material for making livetraps for catching Paralomys sp. We finished in town about 17:00 and drove to camp-site near Morrope. This was same site used on July 14 and 15. 3 km SE of Morrope, Dept. Lambayeque, Peru (elevation 100 ft.) It was past dark when we arrived. We set up camp and retired for the night. Sept. 2 We awoke at 06:00. After breakfast we began making live traps. We made them out of museum special traps, tin cans, and hardware cloth. Below is a typical design for one of these traps:
