R.B. Hamilton 1967 Journal Abrade Naupe 45 km S, 15 km E of Chulucanas, Dept. Piura, Peru August 12 no time to hunt. This area was grass-covered with some old mouse signs but little fresh sign. Some cactus and Tillandsia were present. The area was rocky but I managed to find a comfort- able place to sleep. August 13 After getting up I brought in traps. I caught 1 Phyllotis sp. as did Carl. About 09:00 I looked for lizards. I did not find many lizards but I did see a coral snake disappearing under a rock. Several Andean Condors (Vultur gryphus) were seen flying around the tops of the hills. Several large flocks of finches flew over. We left about noon. En route to Morrope, Dept. Lambayeque, Peru Several km south of Motupe we stopped at Cerro de la Vieja by a hill covered with granite boulders and looked under exfoliating granite for geckos. We caught 3 or 4 geckos and 2 Tropidurus[illegible]. We drove and turned west a little north of Lambayeque and camped near site used on July 15. 3 km SE of Morape, elevation 100 ft., Dept. Lambayeque, Peru Fred, Ray, and I set out traps during the night. Fred caught 2 Phyllotis gerbilus.
