Hamilton 1967 Journal 20 July Reverts 204, 64 Km S, 19 Km W Sechura, Dept. Piura, Peru, Elev. 100' (estimated) arrived at. I dug with my hands but was glad with right hand when I saw a rock in an animal cave at or if sechura not in Peru. The Rover was about 3 finger width deep when I found the glass on. The digging was very from the cavern and and as it was getting rain it the time as the blowing sand wall stuck my glasses set in my eyes and I gave up trying. Below is a rough sketch of the lower system. It makes a depth of about 3 1/2'. I was digging in find tunnel that led fine but I was so deep that the walls they were collapsing faster than I could dig. It took me about 1 1/2 hrs. to dig at lower system. blocked to surface entrance 1 stopped on 1 1/2' 2' 2' feed layer about 3" below surface 6" 2 1/4' block! 1 1/2 2 1/2 6" stopped diggings 3 1/2' down 1 1/2 Entrance food cache side view stopped digging 3 1/2' deep.
